Elementis 与所在社区携手合作
We consider doing well by others and giving back to the communities in which we work and live to be an important part of our business. Through our strong company values, many of our employees actively support many organizations around the world that help promote a spirit of improving the lives of others and protecting our environment.
Making a difference by volunteering
Through our Elementis Volunteering Program, employees can request time off to volunteer their time to a charity or good cause they are passionate about. Together with 1,700 employees, our global organization can make a difference by giving their time and talents to help others in their communities.

Europe – Longstanding history of Finnish baseball
Elementis also prides itself in sponsor community events and teams like the local Finnish baseball team. Finnish baseball has a longstanding history:
Around one hundred years ago, the Finn Lauri Pihkala learned to play baseball in the US. He was fascinated by its clarity and quickness. But there were a few things he did not like: the large playing field and the difficult horizontal pitch; also the tempo was too slow for him. He altered the playing field and the rules and invented “Pesäpollo” – Finnish baseball. With our commitment to this sport, we want to promote the characteristics and traditions of this region and encourage more and more people – including our employees – to actively take up sports.
Local communities
Elementis recognises the importance of a social licence to operate based on respecting the rights of local communities and gaining legitimacy, credibility and trust. This means we seek to minimise the impact of our activities on health and amenity for neighbours and local communities, as well as employees and contractors. There are measure in place to control pollution, dust, odours and noise. A process is in place for recording and addressing public complaints in a timely and effective manner.
